Brown Bag Apple Pie

I don't know about you, but I had NEVER heard of baking a pie in a brown paper bag?!! So I wasn't sure how this recipe was going to turn out, but it was delicious!!


Brown Bag Apple Pie:


Ingredients:


Pie filling:

About 5-6 cooking apples. (We used granny smith)

½ cup sugar

2T flour

½ t nutmeg

Uncooked pie shell


Pie topping:

1 stick butter

½ cup sugar

½ cup flour


Directions:

Slice 4-5 cooking apples. We used granny smith. Recipe didn’t specifie. In a bag, mix ½ cup sugar, 2T flour, ½ t nutmeg. Pile high into 1 uncooked pie shell. In a bowl, mix 1 stick butter, ½ cup sugar, ½ cup flour. Mix with pastry cutter. Sprinkle over pie. Put inside a large brown paper bag. Staple. Set on cookie sheet. Bake at 425 for one hour.
